AWCEO M7 20251114 AER003 PABE PAGG 041
Route: Bethel (PABE) → Kwigillingok (PAGG)
Aircraft: Maule M7-235B (Recon-configured)
Departure: 11:00 AKST
Flight Time: 41 minutes

Today was my first reconnaissance leg, departing Bethel right at 11:00 - to make the most of the short November daylight.
With the sun finally clearing the horizon and sitting just high enough to soften the shadows, conditions were ideal for aerial photography — one of the few advantages of winter flying in western Alaska.

The Maule carried our standard AW Recon Kit, including handheld high-resolution cameras, a GPS-logging tablet, and a compact drone pack. Nothing is permanently installed; everything is modular and strapped in for use on any airframe, which makes these missions flexible but also demands discipline from the crew.

Climbing out of Bethel the light opened beautifully, weather providing a good platform for the first photo sets of the day.
Once the sun angle was right, we descended again toward Kwigillingok to begin the low-level segment. The coastline showed significant flooding, debris fields, and several damaged access paths into the village — all photographed and geotagged for upload to the Ops Center.
Touchdown at PAGG was smooth despite the uneven terrain and the 15kts mid-crosswinds.

That was a productive start to the AER003 mission.
More legs to follow!

Thank you, Tim!
I may be responsible for the angles - and the time of the day counts so much for a great screenshot - but the merit is really of X-Plane; I'm still not sure if I'm lucky but it all seems so easy...
This was testing a paralel install of the new version/update and I added a few, albeit important addons.

The light and weather is impressive. Here you see static images but the way it changes during time is amazing.

And it's a joy to fly, too  Angel !

Good catch, Aharon!

There's a placeholder for the avitab tablet - I click to show/hide; actually I need to start using it!

Aharon, you definitely should try X-Plane!  Big Grin
If I recall it right you have a system capable of running it, Try the free demo, that's the way to start > https://www.x-plane.com/desktop/try-it/

If it works great for you and runs smooth then the digital download is a not expensive option...

Joao,

Thanks for answer on the circle object on left window. I originally thought that was for pilot to open the circle and air-drop onto small town some tube container containing emergency mail or emergency medical supplies such as pills or vaccine shots.

I am still waiting for computer and laptop prices to drop to reasonable levels so that I can buy new system for MS2024 and hopefully XP-12 or XP-13

Understand! But as you know while you wait more advanced things are being developed and by the time prices drop you'll need an entirely new machine  Big Grin

Let me just say this: back in August I bought a used gaming PC for 400 bucks and that's what you're seeing here. The wisest decision I took in a long time  Wink

system: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | MSI B450I Gaming Plus Max WiFi | 32GB DDR4 | GTX 1080 8GB
OS: Windows 11 Pro || storage: SSD SATA 1TB (OS) + NVMe WD Black SN7100 (X-Plane 12)
Monitor: Samsung 26" 1920×1200 || Audio: Roland Rubix24

And the thing is: X-Plane runs smooth, and I have all settings somewhere between mid and max.
The screenshots aren't edited - other than resized!
AND it looks so much better during flight  Cool

Thanks Aharon!
