Guys, how I missed this...
As always my first flight after along period away from the cockpit must start at home - at Nome for me!

Today's flight carried more than just cargo — it carried a small piece of connection for the people of New Shishmaref.

With the sea ice of the Chukchi Sea shifting earlier each year, supply routes have become unpredictable, and every trip matters! Here the effects of global warming have been devastating with many houses being relocated to safer grounds.

From Nome’s windswept runway to the runway at New Shishmaref, the mission was simple: bring in the goods, the mail..
..and a reminder that even in the far reaches of Alaska, no community is ever truly isolated.

As for navigation I kept it classic — tracking the PASH NDB all the way in. Old school.


I will never grow tired of this remote landscapes!

Impressive cockpit panel.  I wonder why radio frequencies are in yellow color? Is it for safety purpose?

That panel is my creation  . That is, the bitmap and gauges selection.
Here you have the Bend Kin Radios, probably X-155/KX-165, from the 80s/90s.
As far as I know that color has to do with ease of read, causing less fatigue than other colors, works well with sunglasses or direct sunlight - and of course it may have to do with the chosen materials!

WOW  that is impressive.  I did not know you can make cockpit panels and thanks for your explanations on the yellow area in radio frequencies.

Aharon, thanks. I just designed the bitmap, looked around and placed some gauges I could use on it. I fly this little plane a lot so I want it to have it all (like the Queen song! )

A short flight to deliver a Carbon Cub, after it100 hour due, from PANC to the owner at Talkeetna.
Cool with scattered clouds in 10 Kt winds out of the NW. Enjoyable 1st flight back in the saddle.
