Hopped a ride back up to Bethel and left the Beaver tied down on the ramp. Grabbed some fresh coffee and briefed the flight home to Anchorage. We'd be departing before 0500 local in the dark. We had some moonlight, but thankfully no forecasted icing along the route. We were repositioning the MU-2 back to PANC for use by Life Flight. The flight was uneventful, and we enjoyed good weather the entire way. Finished it off with a smooth visual approach to runway 33 at PANC. Flown on Vatsim and had some other traffic around the airport to make it interesting.

Taxiing out past some old Do328s on the other ramp.

So long Bethel, we're outta here.

Starting to see signs of civilization again after the long hop over the wilderness.

Depart Juneau on Charter Service, 2 passengers and 60 lbs cargo.  Low ceiling made for a harrowing departure out of the Juneau Valley, dodging hill and mountain tops as the Beaver climbed to crusing alttude of 6KFT.  Arrival not much better, not a great day for Alaskan flying, gotta love it...

Checked in at ops for weather briefing. It wasn't pretty, but manageable for life in the bush. Ceilings were between 700ft and 500ft with snow and ice along the entire route. The destination was showing low ceilings, but for the most part was in the clear. We had a narrow window to get there, and it was going to be challenging punching through the weather enroute. As the weather has been so bad lately, the survey team had concluded their mission early and left for home on a different flight. As we would be repositioning back to Anchorage, I offered to run people and parcels out of PAKI. Will do the same out of PANA back to PABE in a few days.

Just one of those days

[Image: X_Plane_Screenshot_2025_12_01_08_33_50_65.png]
Temp below 0C, winds out of the north over 15kts, blowing snow, icing conditions, 500ft ceiling, and a partridge in a pear tree.

[Image: X_Plane_Screenshot_2025_12_01_09_21_00_57.png]
600ft was as high as we could get. Ended up going back down to 500ft

De-icing boots getting some exercise today

[Image: X_Plane_Screenshot_2025_12_01_09_31_42_06.png]
Had to get through one last blob before breaking into some better weather at the destination
